Day 2 : The Christmas Eve Calm Down 🕯️✨
The Habit: Take 10 minutes for gentle restorative movement and breathing.
Tomorrow’s the big day 🎄, and today is probably chaos. But you need these 10 minutes. Lie on the floor or your bed 🛏️. Place your legs up against a wall (or bend your knees with feet flat if that’s more comfortable). Close your eyes 👁️. Breathe slowly – in through your nose for 4, out through your Nose or mouth for 4.
After 5 minutes, roll onto your side and do some gentle full-body stretches. Child Pose if you’re comfortable on all fours. Anything that feels good. This is about calming your nervous system and giving your body some rest before the big day 😌
Why it works: Legs-up-the-wall is one of the most restorative positions you can do. It reduces swelling in your feet and legs, calms your nervous system, and helps lower blood pressure. The stretching releases tension. You’re essentially pressing a reset button on your body and mind. You’ll handle tomorrow so much better if you give yourself this time today 💆♀️
Your action step today: Set a timer for 10 minutes. Lock the bathroom door if you have to. This is your time. Lie down, legs up, breathe. Then stretch gently. You deserve this moment of peace ☮️
